Cross Training

Have you ever been watching sports on TV and asked yourself "How do they look like that?" This how the best athletes in the world have been training for 20 years.

Cross Training is one of the most widely used styles of training for athletes and mixed martial artists today.  It is a diverse training routine that combines functional or compound movements with endurance type activities.  It is a very intense way of exercising but can be scaled to fit almost any client. (IT IS NOT JUST FOR PRO ATHLETES ANYMORE). The beauty of Cross Training is that you can do it inside or outside. It does not confine you to the gym and it will never leave a lagging body part behind.  Routines are usually 20-35 minutes of actual work time.  You will learn many styles of Cross Training, not only to eliminate boredom but to keep your body challenged as well. (This is not CrossFit.). Your routine will be designed to suit your individual needs. For example: If you are a runner, your CT routine may be more for strength and power. It is designed to give an individual every aspect of fitness and will help you fill in the missing links to your program.

Benefits Of Cross Training

  • Keeps You Motivated To Work Out – All too early, people get bored with what they are doing. If you go to the gym and do the same exercises, over time, your body will not get the same health benefits as it would if you switched it up a bit. When you switch up your exercises then you stay motivated.
  • Helps With The Current Sport Or Activity You Play In – Cross training does help the primary sport of activity you excel in. If a swimmer took up weight lifting, his swimming will drastically improve. Similarly if a football player took up running, his football skills will dramatically improve.
  • It Increases Your Endurance – If all you did was weight lift, your endurance wouldn’t be high. But, by adding running to your workout routine it will help you endure more by simply training your heart. Any form of exercise that raises the heart rate will help with endurance over the long run.
